Description

Lemongrass oil is steam distilled from the partially dried leaves of lemongrass plant.Surprisingly, it has got many aromatherapy properties to get relief from muscle pain.When applied externally it wards off the insects, kills the bacteria and helps in reducing the body aches and when taken internally it supports the digestive system. The compounds that are used in making the lemon grass oil are having the properties of anti-fungal, antiseptic, insecticidal, and are anti-inflammatory. It is used as the flavoring agent in soups, tea, and beverages.

Uses

  • Add 2 drops of lemongrass oil to warm water and soak, foot for about 10 minutes for having the refreshing foot bath. If the foot is aching then 2 tablespoons of Epsom salt can be added to the mixture
  • A massage oil can be made by adding an equal mixture of this oil with sweet almond or jojoba oil
  • A few drops of lemongrass oil can be added to the bath products or in the bathing water for aroma

Directions to use

  • Diffuser: Few drops of this can be diffused in any diffuser at home as it promotes the positive outlook
  • Internal use: Few drops of lemongrass oil can be added to foods and beverages as flavoring agent
  • Topical use: Blend the lemongrass oil with some carrier oil and massage gently on the skin for a soothing effect

Precautions
